Spring Cycle Challenge and Glamour Push

The free 6 week challenge encourages people to ride more often and mentor others to ride as well.  We are particularly wanting more people from health related areas and universities to be involved this year.  Active transport has many benefits but with over a million bikes in WA there are still many that need cobwebs dusted off and tyres pumped up. Support the growth in active transport and healthy behaviour change in your workplace and local community by joining in. While cycling to work is the overall aim, you do not need to do this.  Just start cycling and replace short trips when you can.
Bikewest staff are encouraging people to do just that and providing great merchandise and tips to help you cycle instead more often.  We are endeavouring to introduce a more European Cycle Chic style to cycling. Please look at the websites below for more details.
Spring into spring and get active
Spring is nearly here and it's the perfect time to get back on your bike.
A free, fun way to do that is to join the Cycle Instead Bike to Work Challenge 2010, from 6 September to 17 October. You could win some great prizes and giveaways.
Join an existing team or register your own. A new online function 'invite friends' allows you to invite friends, neighbours and work colleagues to join your team at any time during the challenge. Register now - there are early bird prizes available for 20 lucky people.
For a list of events to be held during spring visit the Cycle Instead in Spring web page.
Glamour Push 2010 - Accessorise!
Women are very much under-represented in cycling, yet there is such a potential to incorporate cycling into their everyday activities.

Glam it up when you ride to work, your local café, or on an inspiring scenic route! Register for the Challenge and make the kilometres count. For inspiration visit
the Glamour Push challenge page and look at the Cycle Chic links.  Women can join the Bike to Work Challenge for a chance to win a Kronan bike and other major prizes and giveaways.
The Bikewest team thanks all the glamorous women who took part in last year's challenge, contributing to an increase of 4% in the Bike to Work Challenge women's category.
Kind regards
